Victoria BC based Maple Leaf Adventures catamaran cruise ship Cascadia runs many trips along the BC coast, the last sailing of the season stays close to home. Leaving Sidney (north of Victoria) the ship can carry up to 24 passengers in a high degree of comfort, even in the variable weather of fall. This trip carried a wine expert and sommelier with a deep knowledge of BC wines, particularly in the Vancouver island and Gulf islands zone, a small but very tasty part of the giant BC wine industry. Onboard visits from vintners, offboat trips to wineries, gourmet meals paired with top wines from across the province, and a healthy dose of hikes and kayaking to balance it all. It's a wonderful way to close off the summer season, gaining a deeper understanding of remarkable wines while visiting beautiful places that we are so close to but rarely get a chance to enjoy from the water
