Belstaff Long Way Up McGregor Pro jacket review as worn by Ewan McGregor

In this video review, Chris talks through the Belstaff McGregor Pro jacket as worn by Ewan McGregor in the Long Way Up. Now, the Belstaff McGregor Pro jacket it is cut in the silhouette of the company’s iconic Trialmaster jacket, and is arguably tougher, and more rugged, than any Trialmaster jacket that has ever gone before. In classic Hollywood fashion, Ewan McGregor wouldn’t be seen to be wearing anything else, and Belstaff have created yet another masterpiece. The jacket is constructed from an extremely waxy, 12 ounce Halley Stevensons waxed cotton, complete with a waterproof membrane throughout. This in turn gives near-laminate levels of waterproofing. Armour is fitted in the elbows and shoulders courtesy of D3O, and there is pocket for a back protector. Everything else is just pure Belstaff: brass hardware, corduroy in the collar and cuffs, a McGregor tartan lining, leather patches on the elbows and shoulders, and so on. Suitable for a bacon sandwich on a Sunday morning? Absolutely. Would we have ridden 13,000 miles from Ushuaia to LA in the Belstaff McGregor Pro Jacket? Absolutely not.
