(22 Jan 2017) JEREMY RENNER AND ELIZABETH OLSEN STEP OUTSIDE THE MARVEL UNIVERSE FOR NEW FILM
No avenging? No problem. Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen play regular people in their new movie "Wind River," which premiered Saturday (21 JAN. 2017) at the Sundance Film Festival.
"Well, it's funny because we made a comment about it when we were filming 'Ultron' like, 'It'd be great to like work on something smaller together' and we've always got along on the other films and it made this experience have like an already nice camaraderie between the two characters," said Olsen on the red carpet.
"There's no superhero stuff," said Renner. "It's all about, you know, the authenticity of the characters and the human condition. I love it. It's great. It gave us a lot of stuff to do together, versus, you know, talking about avenging, you know what I mean? And there's nothing wrong with that it's just nice to work in a different capacity."
In "Wind River," Renner plays a U.S. Fish and Wildlife agent who discovers a dead body on an Indian reservation. The FBI sends Olsen's character, a newbie agent, to help him with the case.
The movie was filmed locally in Park City, which Olsen said gave her an advantage at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
"It's really lovely now coming to Sundance having driven myself around here for a couple months and knowing my way around," she laughed, "and being able to tell drivers shortcuts when it's a lot of traffic."
