One of my favourite teaching strategies for early childhood education is scaffolding. Educators can use scaffolding, one of the most effective teaching strategies, to support student learning. This approach to education involves gradually removing support as students gain mastery. Perfect for early education and classroom management, this approach encourages personal education.
👧🏻 Hi, I’m Kate. I’m an early childhood trainer, university teacher and qualified early childhood teacher. I support educators in building engaging and meaningful programs without unnecessary stress.
I’ve been working in the early childhood sector for over 15 years in a range of roles: nanny, playgroup coordinator, library storyteller, educator, kindergarten teacher and educational leader. I hold a Certificate III, Diploma, Bachelor’s and Master’s in Early Childhood Education, as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I currently work as a relief ECT across different preschools and long day care centres to stay connected with day-to-day practice.
🎓 My background includes early childhood, VET and higher education, across both face-to-face and online learning.
🎹 I also enjoy playing the piano and ukulele, singing with children and pre-service teachers, and writing poetry and children’s songs.
📚 I’m always reading and researching anything related to early childhood education and care.
