GDT Thru Hike Day 22: | Rockwall Trail & the Haunted Campground

Day 22 on the Great Divide Trail takes me from Wolverine Pass to McArthur Creek Campground, passing through the legendary Rockwall Trail, one of the most scenic sections of the Canadian Rockies.

The trail offers towering cliffs, dramatic alpine lakes, and breathtaking vistas — every step feels like walking through a postcard. But the adventure doesn’t stop there…

Upon reaching McArthur Creek Campground, I find myself alone and convinced the campground is haunted. From strange noises to shadowy movements, it’s a night full of suspense, fear, and a few laughs at my own paranoia.

This episode perfectly blends the awe of the Rockies with the unexpected challenges of solo backcountry camping, making it a memorable day on the trail.
