“My youth apprenticeship at Festival Foods is helping me to build a resume,” said La Crosse Polytechnic School student Paige Yang. “This experience also gives me paid on-the-job training while I’m still earning high school credits. I’m also building my college and job skills which puts me ahead of other kids when I start applying to colleges and for jobs.”
The School District of La Crosse’s youth apprenticeship program offers a highly unique combination of school and work-based learning. Our high school juniors and seniors are eligible to participate in a youth apprenticeship that will continue their career and technical education courses while allowing them to work as a paid apprentice in a career field of their interest at a partnering employer under the supervision of a skilled mentor.
