This beautiful castle is situated in Loch Duich near Dornie about 8 miles from Kyle of Lochalsh on the A87 road on the west coast of Scotland near the Isle of Skye.

According to "Exploring Castles" it's probably the most photographed fortress in the whole of Scotland.

Nearby, one can find Loch Long and Loch Alsh.

If you want to visit the castle it can easily be reached on a day trip from Inverness or Fort William. Travel either by car or using a coach service to/from Skye.

Here's an interesting fact about the castle - The location was used in many #films - Bonnie Prince Charlie (1948), The Master of Ballantree (1953), The New Avengers (1976), Highlander (1986), Loch Ness (1996), Entrapment (1999) and James Bond - The World is Not Enough (1999).

In the 1986 film "#Highlander", the castle was used as the backdrop for the procession of the MacLeod clansmen heading out to the battlefield!
