On August 8th, 2023, a discrete supercell would initiate in an upslope flow regime in northeast Colorado. This supercell would soon dive south and become a powerhouse, dropping numerous strong tornadoes. The first of which was a long-lived EF3 west of Yuma, Colorado. This EF3 was highly photogenic, taking the form of a dusty wedge before morphing into a well-lit, clean white elephant trunk. Note the massive RFD cut around the wall cloud in the video. I would end up documenting a total of 5 tornadoes from this storm. 4 of which are featured in this video.
