Today I worked on a new tapestry from my time in Iceland. I talked about translating things I saw there (in this case, windows from an industrial building and a lighthouse) into something I could weave with the materials and format I had chosen. We looked at weft interlocks from the front and back, talked some about four-selvedge weaving and the advantages of a pipe loom, and I wove with Icelandic commercially spun fleece from the Gilhagi Farm mini-mill.

I'm doing these broadcasts to encourage you all to weave every day and to broaden the conversation around tapestry weaving. I started this during stay-at-home orders for COVID 19 and am continuing as we find our way out of a global pandemic as a species.
