This was my first time at the Sycuan Pow Wow and I didn’t know what to expect — but the afternoon session was full of bird songs, laughter, and the warmth of community.

I set up in the sun to get the best angles and caught the bird singers and dancers in their element. These songs carry deep meaning and connect us across generations. It was great to also chat with Powwow.com and some YouTube friends, share gear tips, and learn from others in the circle.

The afternoon gave way to food, conversations, and a little break before the big evening session. Stick around for Part 2 where the grand entry and late-night specials light up the circle!
