The problem of injustice recurs because ordinary people cannot understand the laws, said Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno. The SC chief and Ateneo alumna delivered the keynote address at the ceremonial opening of the International Congress on Private Law of the Philippines and Spain. Held at the Ateneo Professional Schools campus in Rockwell, Makati City, the 3- day event featured talks of legal academics from the Philippines and Spain.
The international Scientific Congress on Private Law of the Philippines and Spain was held from June 13- 15, 2016. It was organized by the Ateneo Law School, Universidad de Malaga Facultad de Derecho, Legal Education Board, and Philippine Association of Law Schools in cooperation with the Embassy of Spain.
