Democracy Reform Primer Series: Ranked-Choice Voting

To narrow the gap between research and public dialogue, the University of Chicago Center for Effective Government’s Democracy Reform Primers advance conversations and strategy about proposed changes to our political institutions. Each primer focuses on a particular reform, clarifies its intended purposes and critically evaluates what the best available research has to say. Through identifying the known and unknown impacts of reforms, as well as the potential shortcomings of these policies, the Democracy Reform Primers support evidence-based conversation about the most productive pathways to strengthening our democracy.
