Parasitoid wasps are insects that use hosts for the development of their larvae, ultimately killing them. These wasps, found worldwide, are part of the Hymenoptera group, which includes bees and ants. They undergo complete metamorphosis, with their larvae feeding on or inside the host. Some species, like spider wasps, paralyze their prey and lay eggs on them, while others feed internally. With their high number of species, parasitoid wasps play an improtant in controlling pest populations, often being used in biological pest control strategies.
