Preheat your pie irons, I recommend Rome Brand but any cast iron pie iron will do. Avoid cast aluminum pie irons, they are garbage. Spray your irons with cooking oil. dip your bread in your egg mix and then toss 'em on the pie irons, add syrup, whatever you want in the middle and then close 'em up and toss over the fire. ya gotta cook by eye so be sure to check them. Once done throw some maple syrup and icing sugar on 'em. Next time I will be using pie filling in the middle.
