The road was short, yet its weight pressed heavily on their hearts. With every step closer to the former house, a memory from the past came alive in their minds—laughter, quiet afternoons that now existed only in memory. When they reached the site of the house, nothing but ruins and silence awaited them. What had once been a refuge and a safe haven was now an open wound on the ground. Mahboubeh could not hold back her tears, and Nasro, more helpless than ever, stood staring at the half-destroyed walls.
