This pooja is a worship of Mount Kanchenjunga and five deities of Sikkim of the five directions in Sikkim. It is like a harvest festival in which fruits and grains also intoxicants made from millets are offered to the Sikkimese deities and it is believed that these deities in return bless the land and its people with abundance.
And It is believed that they bless the people with success in all their endeavours.
This pooja has been done from the time of Gyalwa Lhatsun Chenpo , a Buddhist saint who initiated this worship almost four centuries ago .
