I met her for the very first time at her office.
It was Holi, a day already colored with warmth, but I didn’t know then that the brightest color would come later—quietly, through a message. When it arrived, simple and thoughtful, I remember pausing. At that moment, I realized how beautiful a gesture can be when it carries sincerity. She was gentle, respectful, kind, and generous in a way that never demanded attention, yet held it completely.
What began as courtesy slowly turned into curiosity. Conversations stretched, not because we tried, but because neither of us wanted them to end. Midnight came and went; sometimes it was 1 a.m. before silence finally settled in. There was no rush, no pretense—just two people listening, noticing, caring. She was the kind of woman whose attention felt rare, whose presence lingered even after the phone went quiet. I knew then she would be someone I would remember forever.
And I was right.
One day, without warning, it all fell apart.
There was no clear ending, no honest reason that made sense—only distance, unanswered questions, and a quiet space where something meaningful once lived. The colors faded, the conversations stopped, and what remained was memory. Not bitterness. No regret. Just the soft ache of not knowing why something beautiful couldn’t stay.
Now, we are apart.
Our lives have moved in different directions, as lives often do. Yet sometimes, in the smallest moments, she returns—through a thought, a pause, a memory of kindness. I don’t reach out. I don’t ask why. Some stories are not meant to be finished with explanations.
I only wish her the best.
Because some people are not meant to stay forever—they are meant to remind us how deeply we can feel, how gently we can connect, and how beautiful a moment can be, even if it doesn’t last.
