We want to show this footage to keep the original show Britt Allcroft and David Mitton created alive, and to and to show how much effort and care went into making a production like this before everything became CGI.

What you are about to see is raw unaltered footage from the video-assist and film rushes captured straight from the Shepperton Periscope camera onto digital Hi-8 tapes.

Though these tapes are not HD like the 35mm film used for the series, they provided the crew with immediate playback for the footage, rather than having to process the film in order to review the takes.

You may see strange oddities like inverted footage from other productions, due to the tapes being reused and re-recorded over.

BETTER TRANSFERS ARE COMING SOON! As excited we are to be able to show these to the world we are also currently in the process of attempting to re-scan these tapes in the highest quality possible. You may want to wait for those before doing any project with this footage.
