"This is going to be a heavyweight fight!" This week is one year since Brian Thompson was murdered in Manhattan-- and Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing the United Healthcare CEO is in a pre-trial hearing that could last until December 4th-- the exact day Thompson was shot. Mangione's defense attorneys are trying to get evidence tossed citing Miranda rights and an illegal search. Witnesses will be called including the Pennsylvania police officers who arrested Mangione at an Altoona McDonald's as he was eating breakfast. Depending on how the judge rules, this could change the focus of Mangione's trial which has not yet been scheduled. Anne Emerson talks to a federal prosecutor about the defense strategy and helps explain the legalese of this hearing which is expected to take several days.
