In this lecture, we explore the fundamental concepts of centripetal force and centripetal acceleration as part of Chapter 4: Rotational and Circular Motion in the Physics 11 syllabus, based on the National Book Foundation curriculum for the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Pakistan. The lecture begins with the basic definitions of circular motion and introduces the key forces involved.

Students will learn how an object moving in a circular path experiences a force directed towards the center of the circle, known as centripetal force. The relation between velocity, radius, and the force required for circular motion will be explained. This force is necessary to keep the object in its circular trajectory, without which the object would move in a straight line due to inertia.

The concept of centripetal acceleration, which is the acceleration of an object directed towards the center of the circle due to the change in the direction of velocity, is discussed in detail. Various examples from real life, such as vehicles navigating curved roads and planets orbiting around the sun, are used to illustrate these principles.
Practical applications, problem-solving strategies, and exam tips are also provided to help students grasp the subject effectively.

By the end of the lecture, students will be able to understand the key roles of centripetal force and acceleration in rotational and circular motion, enabling them to solve related problems confidently.
