This Kohl’s used to be a Korvette’s department store that opened up in the late 50’s/early 60’s. It closed down in 1980. Part of the store turned into a ShopRite and the other a Caldor in 1982. The Caldor closed down here in 1999 along with the rest of the chain. The ShopRite closed down here in 2013 and turned into a Uncle Giuseppe’s Supermarket I believe sometime in 2021.
I have a special memory of this place back when I was 12 and shopped at this Caldor with my mom when the store was sadly going out of business in 1999. I just wish they were still around but doesn’t seem likely that they will make a comeback. Maybe one day, who knows.
