This video will show you how to replace the rear hub and bearings on a 1999 Toyota Camry. The new replacement hub and bearings used in this video was provided by the GMB Corporation; an international Japan based OEM and aftermarket automotive bearing supplier for Asian automobile manufacturers. The bearings used in this video can be used on the: 2000 - 2004 Avalon, 1999 - 2001 ES300, 1994 - 1999 Celica and the 2000 - 2003 Solara. A high pitch rear end whining noise that gets progressively louder as you go faster is the best indication of worn rear bearings. Premature bearing wear is most commonly caused by vibrating out-of-balance or out-of-round tires or perhaps a bent wheel. Good habit to keep your wheels balanced and not allow your tires to get too old or worn before replacement.
Replacement of the rear hub and bearings requires removal of the brake caliper assembly and the brake rotor. Mounting bolt access port holes are provided in the hub to allow removal of the four (4) bolts that secure the hub and bearing to the rear wheel knuckle.
