NS Atlanta North District
Milepost 71.0H
Info about each signal:
Signal on the left - four Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and three NEG incandescent gate lights
Signal on the right - four Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and three NEG incandescent gate lights
After getting the second southbound manifest at Pierce Hill Road, I drove the 0.5 miles south to this crossing to get it videoed. I didn't have to wait too much longer for the next train, as about 25 minutes after I pulled in, I heard this guy's K5HL blowing further north, and within a few minutes after that, this 29A would go by with an ES44DC solo on the front, with an SD70ACe and a C6M on the rear. After it passed, I felt I had gotten my fix in for the day, so I went back home.
Like with two previous crossings I recorded before this one, this is my first video of this crossing. The pair of late 2000s-installed signals here haven’t seen much changes at all since they were originally installed to replace a pair of Southern-installed signals from the 1970s.
