Solloza el barrio nostalgias tristes

Que en el arroyo maldito

LITTLE WOMAN OF THE NIGHT

Little woman of the night, of the tender story,
bad babe of the mud,
after the tango that used to caress,
her romantic life was gone.
A whining, bitter lament
the notes of the Bandoneon weep.
The neighbourhood sobs sad memories
because it misses you from the heart.

She left quietly
by........
sweetening with her singing
the merry sounds of love.
The heroine of Carriego*
who in the damnable brook
they used to call her Pimpollito
with her tempting body.

In her eyes were shadows
the night before she died.
Someone saw her, quite pale,
pining alone for not being able to cry.
Such is the life of that little girl
who loved silk for her dresses,
always suffering, the poor girl,
the sensitive little girl from the slums.
