Autumn has so many stages and the beginning is quite beautiful with the changing colours, leaves falling & harvest season. But there’s also the in-between stage before snow has fallen, when it’s grey, cold and the ground is frozen!
I wrote this little finger play rhyme to help embrace and celebrate the evolution of the season:
The trees stand tall, but they are not green
The branches are bare, not a leaf to be seen
The leaves have fallen down to the ground
And make a clatter as they swirl all around
The wind blows strong, there’s a chill in the air
Waiting for snow to fall everywhere
Inside I sip hot cocoa, warm & snug
Under a cozy blanket, giving me great, big, hug
