Verse 1

1절

O birds that soar the boundless sky,
오, 끝없는 하늘을 나는 새들이여,

You lay your eggs and nurture with love.
알을 낳고 사랑으로 길러내고,

When fledglings grow strong to fly,
새끼들이 날 수 있을 만큼 강해지면,

From lofty branches you gently shove.
높은 가지에서 부드럽게 떠나보내네.

후렴

This is the path of truth, life’s flow,
이것이 진리의 길이요, 삶의 흐름이네.

Bringing forth successors to carry on.
앞으로 나아갈 후손들을 낳네.

Not just bodies that come and go,
단지 오고 가는 육신만이 아니라,

But truth beyond forms ever strong.
형상을 초월한 진리는 언제나 강하네.

2절

To burn the dead is not the way,
죽은 이를 태우는 것은 바른 길이 아니네.

The elements return to earth and sea.
원소는 땅과 바다로 돌아가야 하네.

If burned, the natural flow will sway—
태워지면 자연의 흐름이 흔들리고,

This breaks the sacred Dharma’s decree.
신성한 다르마의 법칙이 깨어지네.

This is the path of truth, life’s flow,
이것이 진리의 길이요, 삶의 흐름이네.

Bringing forth successors to carry on.
앞으로 나아갈 후손들을 낳네.

Not just bodies that come and go,

The spirit leaves with no home left,
영혼은 머물 곳 없이 떠나

Toward Maitreya’s realm it flies.
미륵의 세계를 향해 날아가네.

A new life starts, no more bereft,
새로운 삶이 시작되고 더는 버려지지 않네.

In holy truth our hope now lies.
거룩한 진리 안에 우리의 희망이 있네.

Empty temples cold and bare,
텅 빈 사찰은 차갑고 적막하나,

Without the Buddha’s light to shine.
부처님의 빛이 머물지 않네.

Yonghwa glows with sacred care,
용화는 신성한 보살핌으로 빛나고,

Maitreya’s world so bright, divine.
미륵의 세계는 찬란하고 거룩하네.

This is the path of truth, life’s flow,
이것이 진리의 길이자, 삶의 흐름이다.

Monks are caretakers of the gate,
스님들은 문을 지키는 이들이나,

But Buddha is the temple’s true lord.
부처님은 사찰의 참된 주인이시다.

Come every Sunday, do not wait,
매주 일요일, 망설이지 말고 오라.

Feel the grace in this hallowed ward.
이 성스러운 도량에서 은총을 느끼라.
