ITINERARY
Day 1 – Buenos Aires
Through the Four Seasons Buenos Aires, we booked a private tour / car to cover more places in one day.
• La Boca Neighborhood: Located near the Port which means it was a melting pot of cultures when immigrants from Europe settled in Argentina. This is a picturesque colorful neighborhood with pedestrian streets and multiple tango performances
• San Telmo Market: Beautiful Market with lots of food options and Antiques
• Casa Rosada / Plaza de Mayo: Where the President works. The color represents the union of two parties (red and white) after the civil war
• Catedral Metropolitana de Buenos Aires: Argentina’s most important cathedral and where the remains of General Jose de San Martin rest
• Puerto Madero Area: This area honors Argentine woman by naming all its streets after them. Great place to see the sunset
• Cafe de los Angelitos: Nightly Tango Shows Recommend eating prior as the food is not the best
Day 2 – Tigres Area / Buenos Aires
• Explore the Tigres Area which is a relaxing activity as you get the spend time on the Paraná River Delta
• Back in Buenos Aires we visited the Museo Nacional de Arte Decorativo (free), Cementerio de La Recoleta and la Libreria El Ateneo Grand Splendid. This library is the largest in South America and a former theater in the beginning of the XX century
Day 3 – Iguazú Falls
• Day trip to Iguazú Falls, the world’s largest collective of waterfalls (275!) flew to Highly recommend booking a private tour if you want to do this as a day trip as it will save you a lot of time. We visited the Argentina size and then did a boat tour on the Brazil side
Day 4 - Salta
• Travel Day to Salta: Use this day to explore the beautiful town of Salta. I highly recommend going to The Museum of High Altitude Archaeology & also visiting the Cathedrals. For dinner, we really liked Doña Salta
Day 5 – Salinas Grandes (Private Tour)
• Purmamarca /Jujuy & Salinas Grandes: WEAR SUNBLOCK
Day 6- Ushuaia
• Travel day to Ushuaia / Recharge
Day 7 – Ushuaia
• Take the Tren del Fin del Mundo to enjoy scenic views of the Tierra del Fuego National Park
• We had a private guide pick us up at the end of the train ride to take us to
additional scenic places like Cerro Guanaco, Bahia Lapataia, & Puerto Guaraco
• We then explored town and had lunch at Tia Elvira (DELICIOUS).
Day 8 – Ushuaia
• Explore the Beagle Channel. This is a beautiful boat tour of the bay where you get to see sea lines, the light house and also get off on an island for great scenic shoots.
• Visit Martillo Island to walk with penguins. HIGHLY recommend this activity. The only tour that allows you to walk on the island is Piratour. They take 20 people at a time for a duration of 60 minutes on the island. 1000% recommend this over a boat tour to see penguins.
Day 9 - Calafate
• Travel day to Calafate / Recharge.
Day 10 - Calafate
• Boat Tour of Lago Argentino and Glaciers with a focus on Spegazzini Glacier. We used Solo Patagonia Tour
Day 11 - Calafate
• Hiking Perito Moreno & Los Glaciares National Park. HIGHLY recommend the hike. There are different levels of hike difficulty to select from as well as duration. This is SOO much better than just seeing the glacier from the park.
Day 12
⁃ Flight back home!
