【レザークラフト】風琴マチの名刺入れを作る / Making a business card case with a Japanese traditional gusset.

今回は風琴マチの名刺入れを作ってみました。風琴マチは外側に折れ曲がる独特な形のマチで、名刺が引っかかったり折れ曲がったりしないというとても機能的なシロモノ。見た目も立体感があってカッコイイので、いつか作ってみたいと思っていました。

たぶん、伝統技法とされる正式な作り方とは異なると思いますが、近しい作例の載った教本や色々なブランドの商品を参考に設計してみました。詳しい方がいらっしゃったら、「ホントはこうだよ」っと是非そっと教えて下さい😁

こういう機能性に優れていて、尚且見た目もカッコイイものってすごく魅力的ですよね。他のレザークラフトアイテムでいうと馬蹄型コインケースに通じるものがあるように感じます。ただ、そういうのに限ってキレイに作るのが難しかったりするんだな…。

今回の風琴マチもヘリ返しがキレイにできないと不格好になってしまうアイテム。楽しみながらも自分の技量不足を痛感させてくれるニクイ奴でした。

This time, I tried to make a business card case with "Fu-kin machi", a Japanese traditional shape gusset. This is a uniquely shaped gusset that bends outward and has a very functional structure that prevents business cards from being caught or bent. It looks three-dimensional and cool, so I wanted to make it someday. I think it's probably different from the formal way of making it as a traditional technique, but I tried to design it by referring to textbooks with similar examples and products from various brands.

It is very attractive that it has such excellent functionality and looks cool. I feel that there is something similar to a horseshoe shaped coin case. However, it is difficult to make only in such cases.

The gusset this time is also an item that will become ugly if I can't fold the edge beautifully. It was an item that made me feel my lack of skills while enjoying it .
