From constant pain and difficulty in walking, to being back on his feet and living a normal life, Dr. Tarek Ismail Faramawi, a 44-year-old Egyptian dentist, has a journey marked by hope and determination. After years of battling advanced heart failure, multiple surgeries, and long-term dependence on an LVAD, he travelled to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, one of the region’s few centers capable of performing heart transplants, for a lasting solution to his condition.

Following a comprehensive evaluation, a suitable donor heart became available, and our multidisciplinary team, led by Dr. Nadya Almatrooshi, Staff Physician in Cardiovascular Medicine, and cardiac surgeons Dr. Mitesh Badiwala and Dr. Yazan Aljabery from the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute, along with Dr. Tarig Omer, Staff Physician in Critical Care at the Integrated Hospital Care Institute, successfully performed the transplant, giving him a second chance at life and the opportunity to look forward to the future with his family.

Throughout his journey, our team provided world-class, compassionate care every step of the way. This life-changing outcome was made possible through Hayat, the UAE’s organ donation program, whose generous donors continue to give hope to patients and families across the country and beyond.

من الألم المستمر وصعوبة المشي، إلى الوقوف على قدميه من جديد والعودة للحياة الطبيعية. إنها رحلة أمل وإرادة للدكتور طارق إسماعيل فَرماوي، طبيب الأسنان المصري البالغ من العمر 44 عاماً.
فبعد سنوات من تشخيصه بقصور القلب، خضوعه لعدة عمليات جراحية، واعتماده على جهاز مساعدة البطين الأيسر (LVAD)، قادته مضاعفات العدوى للسفر إلى مستشفى كليفلاند كلينك أبوظبي، أحد المراكز النادرة في المنطقة القادرة على إجراء عمليات زراعة القلب، للحصول على حل دائم لمشكلته الصحيّة.

بعد تقييم طبي شامل، ومع توفّر متبرّع قلب مناسب، تمكن فريقنا متعدّد التخصصات بقيادة الدكتورة نادية المطروشي, استشارية طب القلب والأوعية الدموية، الدكتور ميتش باديوالا والدكتور يزن الجابري من معهد القلب والأوعية الدموية والصدرية، إلى جانب الدكتور طارق عمر، استشاري الرعاية الحرجة من معهد رعاية المشافي المتكاملة، من إجراء عملية زراعة القلب بنجاح، ليُمنح طارق فرصة جديدة للحياة، ويستعيد قدرته على الاستمتاع بلحظاته الثمينة مع عائلته مرة أخرى.
