Are you multifaceted and wanting to tap into more than just one field? Me too! You cannot keep me in a box. There are so many benefits to having multiple jobs/streams of income, and all the skills I acquire along the way will help to fuel my future purpose. Therefore, today’s video will share:
How to have 6 streams of income as a BCBA
1.I co-owner of BEYOND ABA, LLC: Everything I do will pour into Beyond ABA LLC. Feel free to consider all other jobs as a “paid internship” that will fuel my private practice.
2. I am an independent contract. This allows me to make more money, and can diversify your cliental, demographic, social economic status, cultures and subcultures
3. Teacher and Special Ed Lead: this job helps me to bridge the gap between the school required curriculum and the flexibility to individualize the lesson plan to support the unique learning abilities.
4. I am a substitute teacher: This allows me to understand the traditional general education school system, their pain point and current teacher culture. The worst thing you can do as a BCBA is come into an unfamiliar environment, barking orders with no idea what the teachers endure daily.
5. Contracting with former agencies: This is my very first job out of undergrade. Where I fell in love with the population and the field of ABA. It’s always important to keep relationships with previous employees and be intentional about maintain professional relationships that have served you well in the past. This is a small field and you will likely run into those people at another stage in your life.
6. YouTuber/ Media Ministry lead at my local church: Although these are not monetized, YET, the income or currency is far greater than money for now. This allows me opportunity to steward over my gift and sharpen my tools in both media and ministry. Its planting seeds in preparation of harvest.
