Epoxy Table Maintenance & Polishing Guide at Natural Timber Stone
Over time, your epoxy table may develop small scratches — but don’t worry, with just a few simple steps, you can restore its smooth, glossy finish like new.
Step 1: Buffing Compound #1
Clean the surface – remove dust, dirt, and grease.
Apply a small amount of Liquid Buffing Compound #1 to a soft cloth, foam pad, or directly onto the table surface.
Use a machine or hand buffing pad (3M purple foam pad recommended).
Polish in small circular motions or figure-8 patterns, keeping the pad moving continuously to avoid heat buildup.
Check progress and reapply compound if scratches remain.
Step 2: Machine Polish (Finishing)
Switch to a finer finishing pad (foam, less abrasive if had).
Apply a fine machine polish (e.g., 3M Perfect-It Ultrafine Machine Polish).
Move the machine at medium-low speed across the surface evenly.
Keep the pad moving constantly to avoid uneven shine or streaks.
Buff the entire table until it reaches the desired gloss.
Step 3: Final Clean & Protect
Wipe off any residue with a clean microfiber cloth.
Let the table rest for 30–60 minutes.
Avoid placing heavy or sharp objects on the freshly polished surface.
Tips for Best Results
Always progress from compound #1 → finer polish gradually.
Keep the pad moving continuously to prevent heat or surface damage.
Test on a small, inconspicuous area first.
Dust and debris can scratch the surface—ensure the work area and table are clean.
For deep scratches, consider light sanding before polishing.
