Hello and welcome to another video featuring LNER A4 Pacific 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley and LMS Black 5 44806……
We start by seeing 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley at Darnholme bend on it’s first train from Grosmont at 12:00am making a fine appearance with The Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive trust head board on throughout today
We then see Peter Best’s LMS Black 5 44806 at Thomason Foss / Water’s Ark on the 12:40pm dining train service from Grosmont to Pickering
Finally we see 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley again this time at Beck Hole heading toward’s Grosmont and then again at 15:20pm toward’s Pickering on it’s last service of the day
LNER A4 Pacific 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley was built in 1937 at Doncaster work’s with the number 4498, the loco was named at Marylebone station on 26th November, on 23rd May 1959 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley achieved 112mph at Little Bytham
Withdrawn in 1966, 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley was saved for preservation by the A4 Locomotive Society and from then the locomotive has ran on many different heritage railway’s and has done mainline tour’s and in 2022 the locomotive returned to service in LNER wartime black with red nameplate’s with Locomotive Service’s limited ( Crewe )
