In a Fireside Chat format, Simon answered questions from Impossible Metals CEO and Co-Founder Oliver Gunasekara and the audience. He shared the lessons he learned from his extensive journey at Arm.
Arm (NASDAQ:ARM) is a British semiconductor design company whose primary business is designing computer processors used in almost every type of computer chip.
Simon spent 31 years at Arm in many different roles. He joined Arm as an engineer in 1991 and became CEO from 2013 to 2022. As CEO, he executed the acquisition of ARM by Softbank in 2016 for $32B. After the transaction closed, Simon joined the Softbank board.

1) You joined ARM in 1991 just after the joint venture was spun out of Acorn Computers. Can you share how you came to join ARM and the different roles you had there for the next 31 years?
2) In ARM's early days, every potential customer had their own competing solution. How was ARM able to win?
3) One of ARM’s great successes is the partnership business model. Can you elaborate on how this came about and how it was developed?
