A duet on gourd fiddle and gourd banjo. This version of Indian Eat/Ate the Woodchuck comes from the Hamblen Collection, as learned by way of the late Christian Wig from his “Chadwell’s Station” album. I originally learned it in G per the album (though Chris was tuned down a half-step), but I had been recently playing around with hopping over a string and playing it in D. It has a different vibe/atmosphere, to me at least, in D compared to G. I still had a custom set of heavy nylon strings on my gourd banjo that I had been testing, tuned aDADE but an octave lower than standard. The fiddle is tuned to standard GDAE.
