From 4 One-Shots to a Killer Techno Sequence — Torso Workflow

I want to share with you a short tutorial on how you can use the Torso T1 and S4, with only 4 one-shot sounds, to build a full techno loop.

Track 1 — Kick
Track 2 — Hi-hat
Track 3 — Clap
Track 4 — A single-note synth sound

What I especially love is that the sound you can get for a sequenced synth line (arpeggio) through MOD and LFO brings insanely deep textures, dynamics, and a living feel. No regular synthesizer can give you that. The methodology of using a one-shot sample as the source sound is what creates the perfect tone for a rhythmic techno pattern.

In this video I show how, from scratch and with just stock sounds, I create a full loop using nothing but the sequencer and one-shots.

I’ve spent a long time thinking about which new synth to buy for my techno rhythms and I realize that only Torso lets me just load in 4 sounds and instantly turn them into a killer synthesizer, with everything tweakable live.

PS: I didn’t prepare anything in advance to make a polished sound. This was pure improvisation - I just wanted to quickly show the methodology of how you can achieve this kind of result and use the gear in practice.
