Mining webinar: Prepare for Ontario workplace inspections on hazardous materials

On May 23, 2024, Workplace Safety North (WSN) and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (Ministry), hosted a webinar, "How to prepare for Ontario workplace inspections on hazardous materials training and worker exposures to chemical agents."

Between July 2, 2024, and March 31, 2025, the Ministry will conduct inspections focused on WHMIS training based on the amended Hazardous Products Regulations and worker exposure to chemical agents in the workplace. Inspectors will be issuing requirements and orders under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Reg. 833 and other applicable regulations.

This webinar reviews the upcoming workplace safety inspection initiatives happening in 2024 and 2025, including WHMIS training, exposure to chemicals, and hazardous products.
