In getting my 2019 Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight ready for fall Arizona riding season, I change the engine oil and filter and the primary oil. I demonstrate my method step by step.
I purchased my oil change kit at my local Harley-Davidson dealer and got everything I needed to do the work. If you are buying your fluids and parts separately be certain to get a new gasket and O-Rings. A flat blade screwdriver or nut driver, 5/8 socket and ratchet, 5/32 Allen wrench, and oil filter wrench are the only tools required. The job can be done in about an hour and can be done by anyone with a little mechanical ability.
