HO Scale OPS: Union Pacific SD40s 'N the Park 3

Here is the third and final part of this three part set, and it's a little longer than the first two. Like I said I had no idea it was going to end up being this big when I started filming this job, but stuff happens I guess.

Again, I have to give props to Athearn on these units. They did a really nice job on them and with me not being the biggest fan of Tsunami, these sounded and performed really nice. Though, I think I want to see about changing the horn, not the best I've heard. Also want to slightly adjust the momentum so they rev up a bit before they start to move. This is the sort of stuff you figure out as you operate.

Even though these units are RTRs, they have loads of details added, almost Genesis level, and as I've said, the run every bit as good. For a price point under $190, they are a pretty decent deal and I've seen them in the $150 range at shows. Lowest I've seen though was at Spring Creek at $148.

Next Sunday will be video I shot at a very large home layout set in California in 1895. That layout is actually right here in Blue Springs where I live. So a nice, close by, layout for a change. Right now, I'm up in Des Moines, IA at the Central Iowa Railroad Club for their last official meeting before their open house on the weekend of the 18th -20th. I'll be back up here for that as well. So I'll be taking a break from the ops videos for a little while.
