2024 Nissan Qashqai Facelift PRODUCTION line in UK

Nearly 18 years ago, the Nissan Qashqai made its debut, revolutionizing the automotive industry by creating the crossover segment. Today, with over four million customers in more than 100 countries, the Qashqai remains the fastest-selling car in UK automotive history. As we move into 2024, the Qashqai receives a bold new design and significant technological updates, ensuring it continues to captivate drivers worldwide.

The latest Qashqai, now electrified with Nissan's innovative e-POWER system, is rolling off the production line at its Sunderland, UK plant. This update comes with a fresh £30 million investment in the facility, adding to Nissan's total UK investment of £6 billion. The e-POWER system delivers an EV-like driving sensation by using a pure electric motor with direct drive to the wheels, offering instant torque and linear response without the need for charging. This makes it an ideal stepping stone for customers not yet ready to switch to a fully electric vehicle.

Since its inception in 2006, the Qashqai has been a trailblazer, setting records and spawning numerous competitors. The Sunderland plant, which also produces the Nissan JUKE and the all-electric LEAF, supports 7,000 jobs across various UK locations, including design, technical, manufacturing, and sales teams. The third-generation Qashqai, launched in 2021, has sold over 350,000 units in Europe, with the e-POWER variant seeing more than 120,000 units on the roads.

The 2024 Qashqai retains the essence of what consumers love while enhancing its strengths with advanced technology and design updates. Significant changes have been made at the Sunderland plant to support the new model, including facilities for new panels, bumpers, paint colors, interior features, and materials. The upgraded technology includes advanced driver assistance systems and the integration of Google built-in, making for a seamless interaction between the driver's digital life and their vehicle.

The new Qashqai features a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen, Google Automotive Services, upgraded Around View Monitor technology, enhanced exterior lighting, and updated alloy wheel options. The N-Design grade introduces bold design upgrades and unique aesthetic touches, such as body-colored lower body portions and wheel arches, and new 20-inch alloy wheels.

The refreshed Qashqai is the first in Nissan's European range to feature a suite of Google built-in services, offering Google Maps and other functionalities that reduce reliance on mobile phones. Over-the-air updates ensure the map information is always current. The enhanced Around View Monitor now includes a 3D function and an "invisible hood view," providing drivers with a comprehensive view of their vehicle and surroundings.

With pricing starting at £30,135, the new Qashqai is available in various trims, including Acenta Premium, N-Connecta, N-Design, Tekna, and Tekna+. As Nissan continues to push towards a sustainable future with its EV36Zero vision, the Qashqai remains at the forefront, blending innovative technology with timeless design to remain a favorite among drivers.
