Edge Nails Using Tips, Compact Chrome, and Mylar!

Hi everybody

Welcome back to the KIRSTY MEAKIN SHOW! Today we have the fabulous Fay in and she’s stressing because she’s not in control.

I’m going to be starting by fitting the tips and shaping them to add in the spine and the russian almond tip, before glueing them to the nail. I’m then going to file the nails so they run in line with the natural nail and blend in the tip with the natural nail.

I’m going to sculpt out a smile line over the natural nail with acrylic, file that smile line, which is where we start filing the spine, make sure you keep the file flat with the nail to keep that shape. Then go in with black gel polish over the wall of acrylic and down about 2/3 of the nail, leaving the very tip blank.

I’m then adding in my chromes, I found the compact chromes work a lot better out of this selection. I’m then going in with the Nail Perfect Fibre gel to stick the mylar and glitter

The camera’s didn’t record the next step, but I applied acrylic gel to fill the rest of the nail.

This next step is the most important, which is filing the edge nail into shape, you need to make sure you keep the file flat, flat, flat against that edge to really define the spine and get it as sharp as possible. I’m going to finish off with gems and top coat, because Fay can’t live without bling.
