Restoration of Cheraman Juma Masjid | Benny Kuriakose

This video shows the rendered images of Cheraman Juma Masjid, which is being conserved under Muziris Heritage Project in support with Kerala tourism department and Government of Kerala. The proposal for conservation and restoration of the Cheraman Juma Masjid is made by Benny Kuriakose.

Cheraman Juma Masjid is said to be the oldest mosque in India which has more historical and heritage value. It is believed to be built as per the order of Cheraman Perumal at Kodungallur, Kerala. The aim of this project is to bring back the Historic Mosque in to its original shape and also to provide ample space for the devotees to pray. The requirement of additional space is met by providing a basement floor in the proposed restoration of Cheraman Juma Masjid.
