Micro Pocket SSB Receiver - NEW FIRMWARE + Hi-Z CIRCUIT Mod.

Two modifications of the Micro HF SSB receiver has been done. Dave G8PTN is developing a new more advanced custom firmware based on a genuine one. Finally no 1kHz tuning step muting, more fine tuning steps has been added together with a new encoder behavior and MENU structure. New s-meter has been added too. VFO frequency calibration is possible and store this value in to EEPROM memory atc.
Mirek OK2BUH provided me the High-Z circuit schematic diagram + JFET tranaistors which is matching the high impedance of the telescopic whip antenna to a low impedance of receiver's antenna input. High-Z circuit also adds an amplification to the incoming signal which significantly improves receiver's reception.

REVERSED SCREEN AND COLORS?
Some SI4732 (ESP32) Mini receivers now appear to be fitted with a different display to the original.
This will result in inverted colours and a rotated/mirrored display. Dave G8PTN has created a patch for the ATS_MINI V1.01 firmware which appears to work with what he have called “Display Type 2”. You can try at your own risk.
The binary files for the patched version can be found in the following thread:

Where:
_v1_01 = V1.01
_8M = Compiled for 8M Flash. This should work for ESP32-S3 (N8R2) and (N16R8)
_D2 = Display type 2

This will only work for the “Display Type 2”. There are no functional changes to the original ATS_MINI V1.01 release
Full Flash backup done before downloading any new firmware is recommended.

RADIO GOT BRICKED?
It seems that not all units use the same ESP32-S3 variant.
The unit we have is N16R8 (16M Flash + 8M PSRAM).
The other units have N8R2 (8M Flash + 2M PSRAM).
Therefore, Dave, the developer of the firmware released a new version for bricked devices - ATS_MINI_v0_30_8M. Download it from the link in the video description.
I must also warn you that upgrading the firmware is at your own risk!

TROJAN VIRUS DETECTED?
I also encountered a problem with Windows Defender in Windows 11, which detected a Trojan virus in the Flash Download Tool (Espressif) application and subsequently blocked the installation. So I repeated it on an older version of Windows 10 where I no longer had the problem. Apparently this is a known case of false positive detection of Trojan:Win32/Caynamer.A!ml infection
