Nestled amidst Pai`s lush valleys and rice paddies, Boon Kho Ku So bamboo bridge is a must visit attraction that blends cultural heritage with breathtaking natural scenery. The mountainous backdrop makes it ideal for great photo and video opportunities. More than just a bridge, it’s a journey into the heart of Pai’s rural charm, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful escape that feels like stepping into a postcard. The bamboo bridge is located 10-11 km south.west of Pai in a small village called Ban Pambok. There is an entrance fee of 30 bath but it is well worth it. Local villagers maintain the bridge, replacing worn out split bamboo slats. Built in only three months in 2016, the villagers goal was to earn merit (Thai: boon) by facilitating the monks`morning alms round and making it easier for locals to participate in daily almsgiving without forsaking farm work. The small entry fee paid by visitors goes toward maintenance efforts and supports the villagers who upkeep the structure. We noticed newer, fresh bamboo in some sections and grayer, weathered bamboo in others, reflectong ongoing upkeep. WSe also met a couple replacing old worn out bamboo. We have visited this gorgeous village two times, January 2020 and January 2025 on our Mae Hong Son loop tour. This time I for sure did not loose my video footage as I did in 2020.
