Cells--even cells buried deep inside tissues--experience dynamic environments and stimuli which require responses. One "family" of responses is what I term "genetic" responses, where genes are turned on (expressed) or turned off. In this video we're going to go over bacterial regulation of expression--a mechanism called an "operon." And we're also going to start in eukaryotic cells, in particular regulation of chromatin structure (acetylation & methylation).
