After parking at Portgordon I set up Meg's buggy and we headed through the village to pick up the old railway line before dropping down to the coast road through Buckie. Staying on the main road we passed through Ianstown and then on to Findochty.
After passing golden barley fields, we dropped down through Portknockie and then on to the tarmac section to Cullen. I had hoped to have some Cullen skink at the golf club as we had several years ago but they weren't doing food so I settled for a coffee with my sandwich.
The friendly locals in the club house indicated the way back to the cycle path to avoid going back through the town. Before returning through Portknockie we took a short detour to visit Bow Fiddle Rock, an impressive and much-photographed sea arch.
Returning to the route in Portknockie, we then stayed high above Buckie on the old railway line and followed the blue signs which eventually brought us back into Portgordon.
