In Reference to: A Pictorial History of Lawrence County.
This is a pictorial history video of the 1800 and 1900 Ohio river steamboat days and how it played a major role in the growth and development of southern Ohio. The big river boats that stopped at or operated out of Ironton played a key role in industry and entertainment for this region.
The Ohio river provided transportation for the early pioneers of this area in the late 1700s and for the iron industry workers of Ironton later in the 1800 and 1900s.
