Learn to sew your own book bag cover. Perfect for keeping your reading book safe when you travel on holiday.
This project will take you about an hour and a half and is at a beginner to intermediate level.
This is what you will need for this sewing project:-
Material for both inside and outside
Stiffening
Thread
Pins
Ruler
Scissors
Zipper
Magnetic buttons
You will cut the material as follows:-
4 pieces 26cm x 23cm for the actual bag
2 pieces 26cm x 23cm of stiffening
2 pieces 10 cm x 15cm for the tab on top
1 piece 10cm x 15cm of stiffening for the tab
2 pieces 23cm x 5cm for the top of the pocket
2 pieces 23cm x 20cm for the pocket
1 piece of 23cm x 38cm for the back of the pocket
Iron the stiffening onto the wrong side of the material that you are using for the outer side of your bag and onto the wrong side of one of the tab pieces.
You are ready to sew the rest together 🤩
