No gardening today - I had a day out! We went to the last free Highland Games in the North of Scotland. Events on this very hot day included: piping competitions, half marathon race, Highland Dancing, the 'Heavy' events (putting the shot, throwing the hammer 16lb, throwing the weight: 28lb & 56lb, tossing the caber), tug o' war, races, high jump, long jump - and my personal favourite: the massed pipe bands. Yes, I love the bagpipes!
There is also a large fairground which is called the 'Showies' by locals.
