Monkeying around on Son Tra Mountain, Da Nang Vietnam

What's up beautiful people, we have a very simple video today. I have officially acquired a scooter, and today I drive along the coastline of Son Tra Mountain until I spot a gaggle of monkeys hopping around. I park the scooter and snap some pics.

A few words on driving in Vietnam: sweet mother of God. I've never been on a scooter before so that was new for me, but what I find to be 100x more difficult is understanding driving standards in this country. Many intersections do not have stop signs, stop lights or road signs of ANY kind.

You basically check both ways and slowly yeet your way into the intersection, hoping that you don't t-bone an SUV or vice versa. People flow like water in this country and I'm having a hard time figuring out what their temperature is.

They take wu wei to a whole new level here, but it seems to work out just fine. I'll get better with time, but I still find it to be utterly terrifying. Anyways, now a quick word on monkeys.

The majority of the monkeys were chill as can be, but I got into two minor scraps today. One was with a mother who thought I was giving her child the stank eye. I think the shutter sound on my camera made her think I was making intimidating clicks at them, and she charged at my dumbass and swiped at my ankles. Fair enough, sorry mom.

Next, you'll see another monkey hit a run and jump to try to intimidate me. I was already pretty annoyed with the mother who threw hands, so this time I wasn't having it at all. I gripped my girthy 100-400 lens up in the air like I was ready for battle and the monkey knew I wasn't playing games. We went our separate ways.

After my GoPro overheated and my camera battery was teetering on empty, I decided to hop back on the scooter and return home for the day.

Another quick note, I began the drive at 5am so that I could see the sunrise and avoid traffic. I was extremely surprised to see how busy the city of Da Nang is even at the ass crack of dawn. These folks get AFTER it.
