Chimborazo is a volcano in Ecuador rising 6263 m above sea level. It is only 1 degree off of the equator. And because our globe is thicker around the equator, Chimborazo's summit is actually the farthest point from the center of earth. Ecuador is known for its many volcanos including Antisana, Cotopaxi and Cayambe. It is a true playground for mountaineers, alpinists and other climbers.
